On Sunday, New Japan Pro Wrestling organized the events of its California-based show, Battle in the Valley.
The event was headlined by two main events, including the first contest for Mercedes Moné, formerly known as Sasha Banks, in her post-WWE career. She was crowned as the new IWGP Women's Champion.
Moné also paid a tribute to late NJPW star Hana Kimura who passed away in 2020.
In addition, IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada retained his title against Hiroshi Tanahashi.
A newly added special stipulation "Loser Never Wrestles at NJPW Again" took place between former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White, and AEW Star Eddie Kingston, where White bid a final farewell to the promotion.
