Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates have launched three collaborative tourism projects aimed at deepening economic and cultural ties, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

The initiative includes developing the “Coco Beach” resort in Lagos, constructing a cultural center in Abuja, and establishing a flagship hotel.

Nigeria’s Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, confirmed that construction of the resort is already 12 per cent complete, while the hotel’s location will be finalized in the coming weeks.

Musawa said the projects will attract greater Emirati investment and strengthen cooperation in tourism, culture, and the creative economy.

Both nations have committed to ensuring the partnership is mutually beneficial and sustainable.

The minister further noted that expanding Nigeria’s tourism sector is central to the government’s broader economic diversification strategy, with ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure, transport connectivity, and visitor safety.
