Nigeria: 9 Killed, 12 Injured in Auto Accident

On Thursday, 9 people were killed and 12 others were injured as 4 vehicles collided on the Kaduna-Zaria highway, in northern Nigeria.

PM News website reported that today, Thursday 9 people were killed and 12 others were injured in an accident involving four vehicles colliding on the Kaduna-Zaria highway.

Hafiz Mohammed, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kaduna State Sector Commander said the accident occurred at about 5 a.m. on the Rigachikun bridge, close to the National Open University, as a result of speeding, according to the website.

Mohammed added, “The injuries they sustained included fracture, bruises, and head injuries,” noting that the injured and corpses were taken to the St. Gerard Hospital and Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in Kaduna.

He advised motorists to always abide by safety rules to save lives and property.

On June 3, 11 people were killed due to an auto accident on the Lagos - Ibadan Expressway in southwestern Nigeria.

The FRSC Spokesperson mentioned that 7 passengers survived the crash out of 18, pointing out that the bodies were burned beyond recognition.
