Nico Williams Surprisingly Extends Re-Signs to Athletic Club

On Friday, rising Spanish football star Nico Williams, who plays for Athletic Club, made a major twist in his transfer move.

Since the beginning of summer, it was believed that Williams was inching closer to Barcelona, a move that was anticipated by the Barca fans.

After weeks of cryptic social media hints, Williams surprised everyone with a plot twist as he extended his contract with his club. This act recalled the behaviour of Mbappé three years ago when he decided to stay with PSG for two more seasons instead of heading to Real Madrid.

The Basque club announced the news with a video on their social media accounts, where Williams said, “I’m where I want to be, with my people.”

Williams signed a new deal until 2035, with a release clause that increases by more than 50% compared to the previous €58 million.
