NGU Dental Students Win 2nd Place at 'AEEDC Dubai’

Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid, President of Newgiza University (NGU), announced that the 4th year students of the Faculty of Dentistry have won the second place in the AEEDC competition hosted by UAE International Dental Conference ‘AEEDC Dubai 2020’ with the participation of the students from 24 Arab universities.

The AEEDC Dubai conference is considered the largest dental event in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia (MENASA) and the second-largest dental event in the world, bringing together leading researchers and doctors from all over the world.

Dr. Farid pointed out that a group of researchers from the Dentistry school participated in the conference for the 2nd year in a row, noting that last year the team presented a new perspective through their research article entitled "The Renewed Exchange of Stem Cells".

The winning team is composed of Dr. Dalia Sana, the team supervisor, and a number of students including Hadeer Rabie Al-Barjisi, Mahinar Gadallah, Nihal Magdy Zahra, Nourhan Ibrahim, Shorouk Safwat, Youssef Al-Qalioubi, and Nadine Al-Nahas.

The competition organized by the AEEDC Dubai conference provides a unique opportunity for all dental students, especially senior ones to interact with their counterparts from different colleges and universities through the competition, as well as exchange information, knowledge and expanding students' horizons in various fields of dentistry, including infection control, four-handed dentistry, dental implants, and surgery.

It is worth mentioning that the Faculty of Dentistry at the NGU aims at graduating scientifically qualified doctors who are able to provide safe and high-quality health care to local and international communities.
