A training session at Santos FC turned tense after a brief altercation involving star forward Neymar and young player Robinho Junior, according to Brazilian reports.
The incident reportedly occurred during a practice session for non-starting players following the team’s latest match. Tension began when Neymar reacted angrily after being dribbled past by Robinho Junior, allegedly asking the youngster to ease his challenges.
What started as a verbal exchange quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, with reports of pushing and brief contact between the two players. Some accounts also suggested Neymar tripped the young player during the altercation, though this has not been officially confirmed.
Neither Santos FC nor representatives of the players have issued an official statement regarding the incident. However, Neymar’s camp has said they were unaware of the reports circulating about the clash.
The situation was quickly brought under control by teammates and coaching staff, and training resumed shortly after. Sources close to the team said Neymar later apologized to Robinho Junior, helping defuse the tension.
Both players continued participation in the session with the squad’s non-starters, while head coach Cuca confirmed Neymar is expected to be included in the squad for the upcoming Copa Sudamericana fixture.
