Brazil's international and Santos star Neymar missed his team’s 2-1 defeat against Corinthians in the Paulista Championship semifinal.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed on his official X that Neymar was sidelined due to an injury.
Romano reported: "Neymar Jr. was not ready due to discomfort, so he was unavailable for Santos last night."
Neymar responded to Romano's post, explaining: "Unfortunately, I’ve been feeling some pain over the past few weeks… I really wanted to help the team, so I underwent medical tests this morning, but I felt pain again."
The player rejoined Santos during the winter transfer window, following his departure from Al Hilal Saudi Club.
He plans to play for the club for six months before deciding on his future.
