Carlo Ancelotti, head coach of Brazil, have announced the preliminary squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, featuring 48 teams for the first time in the tournament’s history.
The squad saw the long-awaited return of superstar Neymar Jr., who is back in the national team setup after a long absence due to injuries while playing for Santos.
The list also includes major Brazilian stars such as Vinícius Júnior of Real Madrid, Raphinha of Barcelona, and veteran defender Thiago Silva.
According to Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte, the preliminary squad consists of 55 players. Ancelotti is expected to reduce the list to 26 players before the official deadline on June 2.
Brazil national football team will compete in Group C alongside Morocco, Scotland, and Haiti, as they aim to win their sixth World Cup title and end a 24-year drought since their last triumph in 2002.
