Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti officially unveiled his squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup early Tuesday morning, with veteran star Neymar making his long-awaited return after an extended spell on the sidelines due to injury.
The 34-year-old forward, Brazil’s all-time leading scorer, is back in the national team setup after missing most of the World Cup qualifying campaign through recurring fitness problems. His inclusion gives him another opportunity to represent Brazil on football’s biggest stage as the five-time world champions pursue a record-extending sixth World Cup title.
Questions had surrounded Neymar’s condition ahead of the tournament in North America, particularly after he managed only 15 appearances for Santos across all competitions this season.
Ancelotti opted for a squad built around experienced players for Brazil’s Group C campaign, where the Seleção will face Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland. Midfield veterans Casemiro and Fabinho were included alongside Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos to provide leadership and stability.
The squad also features several of Brazil’s brightest attacking talents, including Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior, Barcelona winger Raphinha, and teenage striker Endrick, who spent the second half of the season on loan at Olympique Lyonnais.
Brazil’s 2026 World Cup squad:
Goalkeepers: Alisson Becker, Ederson, Weverton.
Defenders: Alex Sandro, Bremer, Danilo, Douglas Santos, Gabriel, Roger Ibañez, Léo Pereira, Marquinhos, Wesley.
Midfielders: Bruno Guimarães, Casemiro, Danilo, Fabinho, Lucas Paquetá.
