New Trailer Released for TV Series “El Ekhteyar II”

A new teaser trailer was released on Thursday for the highly-anticipated TV series “El Ekhteyar: Regal el Zel” (The Choice: Men of Shadow), which is set to screen in Ramadan 2021 drama marathon.

The series stars Karim Abdel Aziz, Ahmed Mekky, Mohamed Farag, Eyad Nassar, Injy El Mokkaddem, Asma Abulyazeid, Mohammed Alaa, Eslam Gamal, Ahmed Shaker Abdul Latif, Ryad El Khouly, and others.

The production will also feature late actor, Hady El-Gyar.

It is written by Hany Sarhan, directed by Peter Mimi, and produced by Synergy production company.

“El Ekhteyar: Regal el Zel” will center around the events of 2012 from a new angle as well as highlighting the martyrdom of the Ministry of Interior officers, who sacrificed themselves for the country during the period of 2013-2020.

The upcoming series will feature more than 11 guest appearances including, Ahmed Elawady‎, who starred as terrorist Hisham Ashmawy in season one of the TV series “El Ekhteyar”.

It will also feature the appearance of Ahmed Fahmi, Mohamed Farag, Karim Fahmy, Hesham Maged, Ahmed Halawa, Ashraf Abdel Baky, Mohamed Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, Mustafa Abu Saree, Sahar El Sayegh, Ali Al Tayeb, and Hisham Gamal.

The production wrapped filming on April 7th.

In June 2020, Synergy, which also produced the first season of the series, announced that Abdel Aziz will be the leading actor in the sequel.

The first season starred Amir Karara as martyr Colonel Ahmed el-Mansy. The martyr was the commander of Sa’ka Forces (Thunderbolt Forces) battalion 103, who was martyred with several other members of his battalion on July 7th, 2017.

They were killed during clashes between Egyptian army forces and militants in a terror attack launched on an Egyptian armed forces checkpoint in El-Barth Village, Rafah, North Sinai.
