The Netherlands have written a new chapter in FIFA World Cup history after becoming the eighth national team to reach 100 goals in the tournament, following their 4-1 victory over Sweden in the second round of Group F at the 2026 World Cup.
The Dutch side delivered a commanding performance, with Brian Brobbey opening the scoring early before adding a second goal to give his team a strong advantage.
Cody Gakpo extended the lead with a brace of his own, showcasing the attacking depth and fluidity of the Netherlands’ frontline. Sweden managed to pull one goal back through Anthony Elanga, but the Dutch remained firmly in control throughout the match.
With this milestone, the Netherlands join an elite group of nations that have scored 100 or more World Cup goals, including Brazil, Germany, Argentina, France, Italy, Spain, and England.
