Netflix streaming service unveiled Wednesday the first trailer for "Fear Street", a trilogy of movies that will debut over a three-week period starting July.

The trilogy is based on the R.L. Stine series of novels and takes place in three different years: 1994, 1978, and 1666. It kicks off with a group of teens in 1994 discovering that the terrifying events that have haunted their town for generations may be connected.

Stine, best known for the kid-friendly "Goosebumps" series, debuted the teen-oriented "Fear Street" in 1989.

In a statement, he stated: “The thing that ties Fear Street to people all over the world is that we all have the same fears. It doesn’t matter what country you are in, everyone is afraid of the dark, or afraid of somebody’s lurking in the closet, or afraid of being in some strange new place they’ve never been before. We all have the same fears.”
