The life of US pop singer Britney Spears had generated plenty of headlines and a number of documentaries in the past months.

Netflix is exploring the controversial situation in a new documentary, titled “Britneys vs. Spears”.

The giant streamer also unveiled Tuesday the first look at the documentary with an 18-second teaser and noted that a full trailer will debut on Wednesday.

“The following audio is a voicemail from Britney Spears to a lawyer on January 21st, 2009 at 12:29 a.m.,” a text reads before the singer’s voice can be heard.

“Hi, my name is Britney Spears, I called you earlier. I’m calling again because I wanted to make sure that during the process of eliminating the conservatorship…” she said.

The documentary is directed by Erin Lee Carr and has been in the works for more than a year.

A premiere date has yet to be announced for the documentary.

Earlier this month, the singer’s fight to end her conservatorship took an unexpected turn after her father Jamie Spears, the conservator of her estate, filed a petition to end the arrangement.

He has controlled his daughter’s affairs since she suffered a mental health breakdown in 2008.
