Moreover, the Israeli PM added, " We have established ties with three Arab countries in six weeks, thanks to Trump's efforts."

'We are building a bridge of peace that many others will cross in the future," Netanyahu continued.

Regarding Iran, the Israeli PM said that Iran "threatens security and stability in the region and is developing nuclear weapons program"

On his part, Pompeo affirmed that the US will not ease pressure on Tehran, and it "will impose more sanctions on Iranian officials"

"I discussed with Netanyahu ways to confront the Iranian threat," the US secretary said.

During his current visit to Israel, Pompeo has just announced that he will visit the Israeli-occupied Golan heights later today, according to Russia Today (RT).

“Today I’ll have the chance to visit the Golan Heights. The simple recognition of this as part of Israel, too, was a decision President Trump made (in 2019) that is historically important and simply a recognition of reality,” he said in Jerusalem.

He will be the first senior US official to visit the Golan since the US recognized it as Israeli territory.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived in Israel on Wednesday.

Pompeo — who has backed US President Donald Trump in refusing to concede defeat to President-elect Joe Biden — is on a Europe and Middle East tour that has so far taken him to France, Turkey, and Georgia, according to Jerusalem Post.
