Israeli Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu went to France, on his first visit outside the region since assuming power.

In the French capital city, Netanyahu met President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday evening at a dinner table at the Elysee Palace, away from the eyes of the press and away from any press statements.

Observers believe that Netanyahu wants to use his visit to France for two goals: the first is internal, and its content is to show the strength of his foreign relations to cover up his internal difficulties. The second aim is to focus on the Iranian file and increase pressure on Tehran, using the most powerful card.

Netanyahu bets on using Iran's role in the Russian war on Ukraine to entice against Tehran.

He did not hide this matter, as he announced before boarding the plane yesterday, heading to Paris, that "the main topic of our talks will, of course, be Iran and the joint efforts to combat its aggression and its aspiration to acquire nuclear weapons."
