On Sunday, the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NEMC) lit up in orange in celebration of World Sick Safety Day, which is observed on Sep.17 every year.

This year's celebration was held in collaboration between the museum, the World Health Organization, and the Ministry of Health and Population.

According to the CEO of the Museum Authority, Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, the museum's involvement in events like these highlights its commitment to promoting patient safety by reminding people of the necessary precautions.

"This year's patient safety event is an excellent opportunity for creating awareness about preventing diseases and encouraging society to prioritize healthcare," Ghoneim noted.

Professor Firouz Fekry, Executive Vice President of the Museum Authority for Administration and Operation, emphasized the importance of the museum's administration paying attention to the basic topics that include the various activities offered.

World Sick Safety Day aims to enhance global understanding of patient safety.

The theme of this year is “Engaging patients for patient safety”, which seeks to elevate patients’ voices.
