Jens Stoltenberg, the Secretary General of NATO said that the war in Ukraine could last a long time, urging allies to provide ongoing support to Kyiv.
Stoltenberg said in a dialogue with the Greek Capital Network that they have to be prepared for a long journey.
The Bloomberg news agency quoted Stoltenberg as saying that China should be taken into account within the next strategic concept of NATO.
He added that the goal is still to take swift action to let Finland and Sweden Join NATO, but there is a need for approval by the 30 member states of the alliance, pointing out that he is working on it in Brussels, Ankara, Helsinki, and Stockholm.
He mentioned that the alliance is prepared to use a mechanism to reduce tensions that were put in place a year ago to improve connections between Greece and Turkey.
