Deputy Secretary-General of NATO Mircea Geoana announced that NATO countries have signed contracts worth €2.4 billion with military factories for the production of ammunition, including its transfer to Ukraine.

In a speech delivered at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Brussels on Monday, Geoana stated, "NATO countries have signed contracts worth €2.4 billion for the production of ammunition, including priority supplies destined for Ukraine, amounting to one billion euros."

Last September, the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Rob Bauer, acknowledged that Ukraine's requests for weapons, ammunition, and the volume of defense products used in Ukraine exceeded the capabilities of the alliance.

The recent contracts signed by NATO countries underscore their commitment to bolstering defense capabilities in the region and supporting Ukraine amid ongoing security concerns.

The €2.4 billion investment reflects the alliance's determination to provide Ukraine with the necessary military resources to address security challenges effectively.

These contracts represent a significant step towards reinforcing Ukraine's military strength and ensuring its ability to safeguard its sovereignty.

Additionally, they signal NATO's continued dedication to promoting security and stability in the face of evolving security threats.
