The Belgian anti-nuclear coalition organized a rally near the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) headquarters in Brussels, in protest against the alliance's nuclear deterrence exercises called "Fortitude Noon".

In its statement published by RIA Novosti Agency, the coalition stated that carrying out these exercises at this critical time indicates irresponsibility, increases the possibilities of confrontation with Russia, and the risks of nuclear threats, which will lead to unavoidable disasters.

The anti-nuclear weapons coalition also called on the Belgian authorities not to allow NATO to deploy its nuclear weapons on its soil and to join the treaty banning it, to set an example to follow in defusing tension and establishing peace.

Media reports said that the Belgian Air Force's Kleine Brugge base in Limburg had this year turned into a center for NATO nuclear training, but the official authorities in Brussels did not confirm the authenticity of this information.
