Serie A title holders Napoli officially revealed the details of the injury suffered by Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne during the team’s Serie A clash against Inter Milan two days ago.
According to the club’s statement, medical examinations conducted at the Pineta Grande Hospital revealed a severe tear in the biceps femoris muscle of De Bruyne’s right thigh.
The midfielder has already begun his rehabilitation program under the supervision of Napoli’s medical staff.
De Bruyne sustained the injury in the 37th minute of the match, shortly after opening the scoring for Napoli from the penalty spot in the 33rd minute.
Despite the medical team’s attempts to keep him on the pitch, he was forced to leave the game early.
Despite the setback, Napoli went on to secure a 3–1 victory, climbing to 18 points, while Inter remained on 15 points.
