A dramatic showdown between SSC Napoli and AS Roma ended in a 2–2 draw on Sunday evening at the iconic Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, as part of Matchday 25 in the Serie A season.
Roma struck first through Dutch forward Donyell Malen, who opened the scoring in the 7th minute to stun the home crowd. Napoli responded before halftime, with Leonardo Spinazzola finding the equalizer in the 40th minute to send the teams into the break level at 1–1.
In the second half, Malen once again put Roma ahead, netting his second goal of the night in the 71st minute.
However, Napoli refused to surrender, and Alisson Santos restored parity in the 82nd minute, ensuring both sides walked away with a point.
Defending champions Napoli remain third in the standings with 50 points, trailing league leaders Inter Milan by 11 points and sitting three behind second-placed AC Milan.
Roma, meanwhile, climb to fourth place with 47 points, moving one point ahead of Juventus as the battle for Champions League qualification intensifies.
The result leaves the Serie A title race and top-four contest finely poised heading into the final stretch of the campaign.
