Nada Bassiouny Thank Fans After “Hammam El Set” Play Success

Egyptian actress, Nada Bassiouny took to Twitter to express her happiness over the success of her new play “Hammam El Set”, which is currently staged in Alexandria.

"Thanks to the wonderful audience of Alexandria for the warm reception, and their impressive presence at the opening of Hammam El Set play; fully booked in the first night," she tweeted on Twitter.

The play is currently staged daily at the Bairam El Tounsey Theater at 09:00 PM.

“Hammam El Set” co-starring Nada Bassiouny, Mohamed Ezz, Hajar El Sharnouby, Zyad Yossef, Alaa Zinhom, Ahmad El-Sayed, Mohamed Beraikaa, Islam Salah Melissa Refaat, and a group of young actors from Alexandria.

It is adapted from 1974 absurdist play "Roman bath" by Bulgarian playwright Stanislav Stratiev and is edited and directed by Jamal Yakout.

The play revolves around a citizen discovering the bath of Queen Cleopatra in his home, which is located in Bahri region, Alexandria, but an archaeologist tries to put his hand on the bath as a discovery of his own, meanwhile, a group of people, including an antiquities dealer tries to exploit the archaeological bath.

“Roman bath” play was a very successful production put on for well over ten years from February 11, 1974, until the early 1990s at the Satirical Theatre in Sofia, making it the longest-running production in the theatre's history.

In 1984, the show was awarded "Award of Sofia", and two years later it was performed at the "Theatre of Nations" festival in Nancy, France. It is cited as Stratiev's funniest work.

In 2010, the play had its British premiere at the Arcola Theatre in Hackney, London.

Noteworthy، Bassiouny is an Egyptian actress. She was born on November 2، in 1963.

She studied acting in the High Institute of Theatrical Arts.

Her breakthrough came with her role in the 1988 film "Algawhara" (The Jewel).

She then embarked on a prolific television and theater career، including notable roles in successful series like "Hawanem Garden City" (The Ladies of Garden City).
