North Korea on Monday condemned the recent U.S. attacks on Iran, according to Al Arabiya.
The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that "the United States exploited the security interests of a sovereign state," in reference to the strikes targeting Iranian nuclear sites.
Meanwhile, CNN quoted a U.S. Department of Justice official who said that the bombing of three nuclear facilities did not meet the threshold requiring congressional approval.
The official added, “If the conflict continues, the Trump administration may have to seek Congress’s authorization,” noting that President Trump carried out the strikes under his executive powers and in accordance with the U.S. Constitution.
It is worth mentioning that, U.S. president Donald Trump had announced on Sunday that the United States had successfully conducted strikes on three nuclear sites in Iran.
