Myanmar clashes reach UN seat

Since the military coup in Myanmar, the conflict between the democratic ruler and the army is still on fire. The clashes between both parties reached a new stop which is Myanmar’s UN seat, CNN reported.

Myanmar’s Ambassador to the UN Kyaw Moe Tun asserted in an official letter that he still represents his country.

However, a new ambassador nominated by Myanmar’s military leaders to the UN Both parties have sent letters to the UN calling for the right to represent the country to the international organization.

On the other hand, Tun expressed in his letter to the UN that the democratic government has been overthrown by the military leaders, so he calls for his democratic rights to represent the country.

But, current Myanmar’s foreign ministry is supporting the new ambassador, especially after Tun asked the UN to use all possible means to stop the military coup in his country, according to UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric.

The spokesman added, “It's a unique situation we have not seen in a long time.” In addition, he asserted that the UN is trying to solve that as soon as possible.
