No more details have been posted about the reason for departure whether it is an expiration of a contract or release.
A number of talent releases were speculated after the merging between Endeavor and WWE that resulted in a new entity which is TKO.
WWE has already released more than 100 employees since the merging. All of them were in the Social Media, Digital, Marketing, and Broadcasting departments.
In 2022, Ali asked for his release which was declined by the company, then, he made a few appearances in Monday Night Raw, and Friday Night SmackDown before moving to NXT.
He was set to challenge Dominik Mysterio for the NXT North America Championship at NXT No Mercy on September 30.
However, the match changed to Dragon Lee for the title match on the September 25 episode of Raw, even though Ali had beaten Lee in a #1 contender match.
