The Vancouver Whitecaps, led by German star Thomas Müller, have booked a high-stakes MLS Cup Final against Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami after defeating San Diego 3–1 in the Western Conference Final.

Vancouver’s goals came from Brian White, who scored twice, and a Pablo own goal in the 8th, 11th, and 45th minutes. San Diego’s only reply was a Lozano strike in the 60th minute.

Müller, who joined the Whitecaps after ending his 25-year career at Bayern Munich last August, has enjoyed a remarkable transition to MLS.

During his long spell in Germany, he played 756 matches, netted 250 goals, provided 276 assists, won 13 Bundesliga titles, and helped Bayern secure historic trebles in both 2013 and 2020.

Inter Miami reached the MLS Cup Final for the first time in club history after defeating New York City FC.

Tadeo Allende opened the scoring in the 14th minute and doubled the lead in the 23rd following a Jordi Alba assist.

NYCFC pulled one back through Justin Haak, but Miami extended their advantage with goals from Mateo Siletti (assisted by Messi) in the 67th minute, Tillasco in the 83rd, and Allende completing his hat-trick in the 89th.

Vancouver Whitecaps and Inter Miami will meet in the 2025 MLS Final on Saturday, December 6—a clash headlined by Thomas Müller versus Lionel Messi.
