MP Aboul Enein Mourns Death of Egyptian Tycoon Mohamed Farid Khamis

MP and prominent businessman Mohamed Aboul Enein has sent a telegram of condolences to MP Mahmoud Khamis over the death of his brother, Mohamed Farid Khamis, chairman of the Oriental Weavers.

The Chairman of the Egyptian-European Business Council asked the Almighty Allah to rest the deceased’s soul in peace, and to inspire his family and patience and fortitude.​

Aboul Enein added that Khamis was a prominent and great patriotic figure who spent his life serving this nation, loving every bit of its pure soil.

He added that Khamis's legacy will remain a great industrial landmark serving the national product and symbolizing a pioneering national experience in investment and industry.

Khamis was serving as the head of the Egyptian Investors Federation and the chairman of Oriental Weavers.

Khamis established Oriental Weavers in 1980 and it grew under his leadership to become the largest machine-made rug and carpet manufacturer in the world.

 

In March, Khamis donated EGP 5 million to the Long Live Egypt Fund to help confront the coronavirus.

The Oriental Weavers is an Egypt-based company that is principally engaged in the production and sale of machine-woven carpets and rugs for the residential, commercial, and hospitality industries.

 

The Company offers various lines of area rugs, as well as manufactures woven goblins and tapestries.

 

The Company operates through its subsidiaries including Oriental Weavers USA Inc., Oriental Weavers International, Oriental Weavers Fibers Company, Egyptian Fiber Company (EFCO), Oriental Weaves China, New Mac, EFCO Modern Fiber, and MAC Carpet.
