The Ministry of Youth and Sports launched the National Strategy for Youth and Sports (2025–2032), on August 12, coinciding with International Youth Day, under the auspices of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and in partnership with the United Nations.

The strategy aligns with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and was developed through a participatory, multi-stakeholder approach, bringing together youth, government institutions, civil society, and international partners, including UN agencies.

The event brought together Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Latif, President of the National Council for Women Counselor Amal Ammar, UN Resident Coordinator Elena Panova, UNFPA Representative in Egypt Yves Sassenrath, and UNICEF Representative in Egypt Natalia Winder Rossi, among other representatives from ministries, UN agencies, and government entities.

The strategy aims to advance the development of youth and sports through investment in human capital, supporting smart economic contributions, to ultimately achieve sustainable development.

Under four main pillars, the strategy prioritizes the comprehensive development of youth and adolescents, promoting the culture of sports as a lifestyle, enhancing competitive sports and creativity and improving governance in youth and sports sectors.

During the event, relevant stakeholders presented the four pillars of the strategy, followed by a discussion on the impact of partnerships in youth-led development.

The launch of the strategy reinforces Egypt’s leadership in youth development at the regional and global levels on International Youth Day, which is an opportunity to shed light on youth issues to the international community and celebrate the potential of young people as partners in today’s global society.
