Mousa Afshar, a member of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), stated today that the frenzied wave of executions carried out by the mullahs' regime—including the execution of four members of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in just two days—is not a judicial measure, but a concentrated expression of the existential panic the regime is experiencing in its final days.
Afshar said: "The Velayat-e Faqih regime, which lost its head with the death of the tyrant Ali Khamenei, now finds itself at a total dead end. Resorting to the gallows is a desperate attempt to impose silence on a boiling society and a preemptive flight from the inevitable collapse that is now knocking on the doors of the crumbling centers of power."
He added: "The regime's revival of the behaviors seen during the 1988 massacre at this time reveals the extent of confusion and exposure within the mullahs' circles. They are trying to intimidate the people to prevent an explosion in the streets, but this bloodshed will only deepen popular anger and erode what remains of the regime's fragile structure."
Explaining the reality on the ground, Afshar continued: "The ongoing external war has resulted in the destruction of the regime’s military machine and its unprecedented structural weakening. Although the Iranian Resistance never relies on foreign intervention and emphasizes that democratic change is the affair of the Iranian people alone, this war has objectively exposed the extreme fragility of the mullahs' regime to the world and accelerated the end of its dark era."
Clarifying the role of the Resistance at this stage, Afshar said: "Amidst this disintegration, the Resistance Units are emerging as an organized and decisive field force. The focus of these units today is on intelligent strategic operations, gathering precise intelligence, and paralyzing the suppression apparatus, in preparation for the moment when the people will take the initiative to establish a democratic republic."
Afshar emphasized that the political alternative is ready and effective: "Mrs. Maryam Rajavi has announced the formation of the Provisional Government based on the 10-point plan. This is the roadmap that guarantees the transition of sovereignty to the Iranian people and the establishment of a state based on the separation of religion and state, the abolition of the death penalty, and respect for human rights."
Afshar concluded his statement by saying: "Our message to the international community is clear; silence in the face of the execution machine is an alignment with the executioner. The Velayat-e Faqih regime effectively ended with the death of the bloodthirsty Khamenei, and the future is being forged by the Resistance Units and the Iranian people, who will settle for nothing less than the total overthrow of this regime and the establishment of a free Iran."
