Russia will host the first-ever Russia–Arab Summit in Moscow on October 15, marking a major milestone in the evolution of dialogue and strategic cooperation between Moscow and the Arab world.

According to the summit’s official website, , the event will bring together representatives from Arab states across the Middle East and North Africa, as well as member countries of the Arab League in East Africa, for a broad exchange of views on political, economic, and humanitarian cooperation.

Organizers say the summit aims to establish new standards for constructive partnership across multiple sectors, including trade, energy, investment, and culture, while addressing pressing issues of international and regional security.

Discussions are expected to focus on developing a shared vision for resolving conflicts through principles of sovereignty, independence, equality, and non-interference in internal affairs, in line with the long-standing diplomatic tenets both Russia and the Arab League have emphasized in recent years.

“The Russia–Arab Summit represents a new stage in deepening political dialogue and strengthening long-term partnerships between Moscow and the Arab world,” a preparatory statement said.

Expanding Ties Through High-Level Engagement

The dynamics of Russia’s relations with Arab League member states have been shaped by intensive high-level contacts over the past year. Russian President Vladimir Putin has maintained regular communication with Arab leaders, both through personal meetings and phone calls, highlighting Moscow’s growing interest in the region.

In 2025 alone, Russia received several Arab heads of state and senior officials, including:

Qatar (April 17)

Oman (April 22)

Egypt (May 9)

Palestine (May 10)

Yemen (May 28)

United Arab Emirates (August 7)

A number of Arab leaders also attended commemorative events in Moscow marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, underscoring the symbolic and historical depth of Russia–Arab ties.

Analysts view the upcoming summit as a strategic turning point, positioning Russia as a key interlocutor in Arab affairs at a time of shifting global alliances and intensified dialogue on energy, security, and multipolar governance.

The summit is expected to produce a joint declaration outlining future cooperation mechanisms between Russia and the Arab League, paving the way for a more structured partnership built on mutual respect and shared interests.
