Moscow Mayor: Directing Flights to Other Airports After Drone Attack on Russian Capital

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced today, Tuesday, that to ensure the safety of aircraft, flights were directed from Vnukovo Airport to other airports following an attack with marches that were confronted on the outskirts of the capital.

And the mayor of Moscow said on his channel on “Telegram,” “Today, another attempt to launch an attack by Ukrainian drones took place in the (New Moscow) region and the suburbs of Moscow. The attacks were repelled by air defense systems, and all detected drones were neutralized. For security reasons, some flights have been temporarily rerouted from Vnukovo Airport until 8:00 am.

The Moscow mayor confirmed that the attempted attack by drones did not result in any injuries or damage.

Later, the Federal Air Transport Agency announced that Vnukovo Airport, which imposed restrictions on receiving and taking off aircraft from it on Tuesday morning, has resumed normal operations.
