The Russian Embassy in Denmark has warned that excessive and continuous Danish military aid to Ukraine increases the risk of a direct clash between the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and Russia.

According to the embassy's statement: "Denmark continues to add fuel to the fire of the conflict in Ukraine, increasing military assistance to the Kyiv regime and training hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers on Danish territory."

The diplomatic mission added: “The actions of the Danish authorities not only contradict international arms trade rules that prohibit the supply of weapons and military equipment to the area of armed conflict, but also lead to an escalation of confrontation, and increase the risk of a direct clash between NATO and Russia, with dire consequences for all parties.” ".

Last week, the Danish government announced the creation of a new Ukrainian fund worth 7 billion kroner (more than $1 billion) in 2023, according to the diplomatic mission.

The Russian embassy confirmed that "Out of the DKK 7 billion, only a small part - 1.6 billion - is planned in one way or another to be directed to the reconstruction of Ukraine ... The remaining amount of DKK 5.4 billion will be allocated for new supplies of weapons and equipment."
