Morocco continued its impressive preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a commanding 4-0 victory over Madagascar in an international friendly on Tuesday at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
The Atlas Lions delivered an attacking masterclass, showcasing their strength and depth ahead of the tournament, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Morocco took control from the opening minutes and broke the deadlock just three minutes into the match through Ismael Saibari. The midfielder doubled the lead in the 24th minute, giving the hosts a comfortable 2-0 advantage at halftime.
The Moroccan side maintained its dominance after the break, with Soufiane Rahimi converting a penalty to make it 3-0 before the Atlas Lions added a fourth goal to complete an emphatic victory.
Head coach Mohamed Ouahbi used the friendly to assess both regular starters and squad players as Morocco enters the final stage of preparations for the World Cup.
The team displayed excellent cohesion across all areas of the pitch, combining defensive solidity with clinical finishing, offering encouraging signs ahead of the global tournament.
Morocco will conclude its World Cup preparations with another high-profile friendly against Norway in New Jersey on Sunday before beginning its World Cup campaign.
The Atlas Lions have been drawn into Group C alongside Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti. Morocco will open its tournament against Brazil on June 14, before facing Scotland on June 20 and Haiti on June 25.
