The General Directorate of National Security in Morocco categorically denied reports circulating on social media claiming the death of a security officer at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat during the Africa Cup of Nations final.
The Senegalese national team won the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title, defeating Morocco 1-0 in the final match on Sunday evening after extra time.
A statement from the Directorate confirmed that the National Security services had not recorded any deaths among security personnel or ball boys, nor had they initiated any investigation into the death of any individual due to incidents related to sports-related violence.
These are the data that were confirmed after reviewing various health institutions. In response to this false and misleading news, the National Security services confirm that they have informed the competent judicial authorities of the content of these publications, and have requested their guidance on opening a judicial investigation to identify those responsible for publishing and disseminating them, in order to determine legal responsibilities and take appropriate penalties.
