Morocco booked their place in the final of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2025 after defeating defending champions Senegal on penalties.
The semi-final, played at the Mandela National Stadium in Kampala, Uganda, ended 1-1 after extra time before Morocco triumphed 5-3 in the shootout.
Senegal took the lead in the 16th minute through Joseph Layeus Sambe, but Morocco responded quickly as Sabir Bougrine equalised just seven minutes later.
This result sends Morocco into the CHAN final for the third time in their history, having previously lifted the trophy in 2018 and 2020. They will now face Madagascar, who overcame Sudan in the other semi-final.
The 2025 edition of the tournament is jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
