Morocco advance to Knockouts for 1st Time Since 1986

On Thursday, Morocco advanced to the final 16 round in FIFA World Cup for the first time since 1986.

The Lions of Atlas defeated Canada 2-1 in the final round of the Group H tournament in the FIFA World Cup.

Hakim Ziyech scored for Morocco which was followed by a goal by Youssef En-Nesyri.

However, Nayef Aguerd mistakenly hit his net to afford a goal for the Canadians. 

During the rest of the match, the North Americans attempted to equalize the game but they failed. 

Morocco qualified after securing first place in Group H, in addition, they become the second African team to reach the knockouts after Senegal. 

Canada is the second team in this tournament to be knocked out after three losses, after, the host Qatar.
