More Nigerians Partake in #EndSARS Protests for 2nd Day

Nigerian protesters on Friday called for the prohibition of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) over alleged harassment and killing of the citizens have entered its second day in many cities across the country.

After a video showing a man gunned down in Delta by the police, the protests against SARS started gaining more supporters.

Several celebrities have joined those protest for the outlawing of SARS, bringing up the agonies the police unit has caused Nigerians.

Runtown and Falz, two music stars, joined the streets of Lekki alongside other young Nigerians on Thursday to demand unconditional ban of the police unit.

On Thursday, some of the protesters raided the premises of the Nigeria Police Force headquarters at the nation’s capital to air their objections.

Many other states including Delta and Imo also witnessed #EndSARS demonstrations, as calls for an end of the police unit continue to rise.

The IGP Mohammed Adamu banned SARS from taking routine patrols and search duties after victims began to tell their stories with officials of the unit, according to BBC.
