Mona Zulficar - first woman to receive Lifetime Achievement  Award

CAIRO,NOV.3 (SEE)- Mona Zulficar,  became the first women to receives the Lifetime Achievement Award at The International Financial Law Review's Middle East 2018 awards.

Zulficar is the Chairperson, of Egyptian Final Group Hermes.  A corporate lawyer She has particibeted on almost all of Egypt’s biggest merger and accusations transactions, including the sale of Orascom Construction’s cement business for $13 billion In 2007.

 

Two years later, she formed her law firm where she continues to represent some of the biggest corporate names in Egypt, including Orascom, General Motors Egypt, and investment bank EFG Hermes where she is chair.

 

She served as VP of the Constitutional Committee of 50 and played a key role in drafting the 2014 Egyptian Constitution, and is currently member of the National Council for Human Rights.

She has recently been elected President of the Egyptian Micro-finance Federation and has been chairing several NGOs active in social development and micro-finance to poor women.

Internationally she served as elected member of the international Advisory Committee of the United Nations Human Rights Council for two terms ending 2011.

She has political science and law degrees from Cairo University and Mansoura University.
