Egyptian actress Mona Zaki is set to star in the Arabic-language remake of the 2016 hit Italian film "Perfect Strangers".

First announced in late 2018, the "Perfect Strangers" remake has been twice postponed due to both the coronavirus pandemic and political situation in Lebanon. The film is now set to begin production in February.

The film has been rewritten to set the story amid the coronavirus pandemic. It has been adapted by Gabriel Yammine and Wissam Smayra, the film will be the latter's debut feature film.

It also stars Nadine Labaki, Adel Karam, Eyad Nassar, Diamand Bou Abboud, and others.

The plot takes place in Lebanon in the midst of the revolution and dealing with the coronavirus crisis, and centers around a group of seven friends who decide to play a game. The attendees place their cellphones on the table and agree to make all texts and calls become public. The game at first is a playful exercise, things get decidedly more serious as untold secrets public knowledge within the group.
