CAIRO, March 2 (SEE) - Warnings about the Momo challenge had lately increased as they suggest that children are being encouraged to kill themselves or commit violent acts.
This happens after receiving messages on WhatsApp from users with a profile picture of a distorted image of woman with bulging eyes, according to the Guardian.
The Momo Challenge has returned. Its first appearance was in 2018 and has been widely disseminated in social media.
It has been appearing on YouTube, especially in children's videos. Videos start normally and then the Momo appears sending threatening messages to the children.
On the other hand, the Sun newspaper reported that several users have reportedly claimed that Momo responds with violent images and players are threatened if they refuse to follow the game's "orders" and dares.
Some liken the Momo Challenge with the Blue Whale game which caused the suicide of many of children in Egypt and the world.
British schools have begun issuing warnings on their websites and accounts on Social Media about the Momo challenge after reports said that it reappeared on YouTube.
On its part, YouTube denied on Twitter the appearance of the game of suicide "Momo" through the videos. It had seen no evidence of videos showing or promoting the Momo challenge on its platform.
