Mohamed Salah could be on the verge of completing the next chapter of his career after his agent hinted that the Egyptian star's future will be decided "very soon," amid growing links with Turkish giants Beşiktaş.
The 34-year-old became a free agent after leaving Liverpool at the end of the 2025/26 season following a mutual agreement to terminate the final year of his contract.
According to reports from Turkey, Beşiktaş have submitted their first official offer for Salah after the former Liverpool winger reportedly lowered his salary demands to facilitate a move. The reports also claim that Salah's lawyer has traveled to Istanbul for negotiations with the club.
Fueling speculation, Salah's agent Ramy Abbas Issa posted on social media that the player's next destination could be revealed "very soon."
"We still do not know where Mohamed will play next season but we may know very soon," Abbas wrote before adding: "It is not our style to have discussions with clubs that Mohamed wouldn't want to play for, just for the sake of noise."
Salah ended his nine-year spell at Liverpool as one of the club's greatest-ever players, leaving with multiple major trophies, including the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.
Despite helping Liverpool win the 2024/25 Premier League title with a remarkable 47 goal contributions, Salah's final season ended in disappointment as the Reds finished fifth in the league before the veteran forward confirmed his departure in March.
The Egyptian international has attracted interest from several clubs across Saudi Arabia, Major League Soccer, and Europe.
Saudi Pro League clubs had long considered Salah a priority target, having previously seen Liverpool reject a reported £150 million bid from Al Ittihad in 2023.
Speaking last year, Salah admitted that negotiations with Saudi officials had been serious before he eventually extended his Liverpool contract.
"It was a good opportunity. If I hadn't renewed with Liverpool, it would have happened," Salah said.
While Saudi Arabia remains a potential destination, Beşiktaş now appear to be leading the race, with an official announcement on the former Liverpool star's future expected in the coming days.
