Mohamed Salah and Mane Top Africa's Most Valuable Players

Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian national team player and Liverpool player, and Sadio Mane, the Senegalese national team player and Al-Nassr player, share the top spot on the list of the most valuable players in African football history, according to the international website Transfermarkt.

The market value of the duo reached €150 million in 2018 and 2019, respectively, making them the joint-most valuable African footballers of all time.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane surpassed Nigerian Victor Osimhen, whose market value reached €120 million in 2023, while Moroccan Achraf Hakimi, the Paris Saint-Germain player, came in third, with his market value this year reaching €80 million.

According to the international website "Transfer Market," the Egyptian Pharaoh's market value began at 25,000 euros with the Arab Contractors Club in 2010, reaching 150 million euros in 2018. He underwent several major developments during these years, rising to become the most expensive player in the world, then declining again.
