Cairo Opera House was set to host “The king” Mohamed Mounir’s first concerts, following the easing of coronavirus lockdown rules.
However, Mounir’s upcoming concert at the opera house, originally scheduled for Thursday, July 16, has been postponed upon his request.
No new dates have been announced.

Mounir released his 1977 debut solo album, “Alemony Eneeki” on the Sonar record label, after completing his military service.
The 65-year-old superstar has released over 22 official albums and featured on six soundtrack albums under several different record labels.
Mounir, whose musical career spanned over three decades, presented various genres into his music, such as classical Egyptian Music, Nubian music, blues, jazz, and reggae.
The superstar’s lyrics are quite famous for its philosophical content as well as for its passionate social and political commentary.
He is affectionately known by his fans as “The King” due to his album and play “El Malek Howwa El Malek” (The King is The King).
Along with his singing career, Mounir also embarked on an acting career, during which he presented nearly 12 movies, 4 television series, and 3 plays.
He made his acting debut in 1982, where he starred and performed the soundtrack of Youssef Chahine’s film ‘Hadouta Masreia” (An Egyptian Story).
