The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Football Association has appointed Mohamed Kamal as head coach of the Egypt women’s national team ahead of their participation in the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Kamal’s technical staff will include Engy Ahmed Attia as general coach, Mohamed Arafat as goalkeeping coach, and Mohamed Adel as fitness coach.

The federation extended its appreciation to National Bank of Egypt SC for approving Kamal’s temporary release during the preparation period and throughout the continental tournament, highlighting the spirit of cooperation in support of the national teams.

Earlier, the Egyptian FA decided to part ways with the technical staff of the Egypt Women’s U-20 national team, led by head coach Amira Youssef, following the team’s heavy 4-0 defeat to Benin women's national football team in the qualifiers for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

The loss officially ended Egypt’s hopes of qualifying for the U-20 Women’s World Cup finals, prompting administrative changes as the federation seeks to restructure and strengthen women’s football at various levels.

With Mohamed Kamal now at the helm of the senior squad, the focus shifts to preparations for continental competition and rebuilding momentum on the African stage.
