Production began on Egyptian actor Mohamed Emam's latest film "Al Ostaz" in the coast of the Red Sea in the city of Hurghada.

The cast also includes Bayoumi Fouad, Bassem Samra, Mohamed Mahmoud, Wizo, and others.

The film hails from acclaimed filmmaker Sherif Arafa and marks the first collaboration between Arafa and Mohamed Emam, the son of his long-time collaborator Adel Emam.

"Al Ostaz" will also be shot in a number of coastal cities, including Hurghada, Nuweiba, and other cities besides Cairo.

On the other hand, Emam is gearing up to begin shooting the remake of the 1991 cult film "Shams elzanaty", which starred his father, prominent Egyptian actor, “El Zaeem” Adel Imam.

Set during WW2, "Shams elzanaty" follows an oasis village being attacked frequently by a group of robbers, led by a marshal. The village's old man Sheikh Othman travels to Cairo, Egypt, to buy weapons and men, Shams Elzanaty and his fellows, to fight back.

The film also starred Mahmoud Hemeida, Sawsan Badr, Mahmoud El Gendy, Mustafa Metwalli, Abdullah Mahmoud, Ahmad Maher, Ibrahim Nasr, Roshdy El Mahdy, Aly Abdel Raheem, Noha El Amroussy, Saeed Tarabeek, and more.

The remake is directed by Ahmed Khaled Moussa and serves as a follow-up to the original film. The project also witnesses Mohamed Emam teaming up with Yasmine Sabri in the upcoming film.

Mohamed Emam is studying with the production company how to persuade Emam senior to take on the role of the narrator.

Principal photography will begin in October.
