Tonight, Mohamed Abdel Monem may make his Ligue 1 debut as Nice will be hosted by Angers at 6 pm.
Nice are third on the standings of the Ligue 1, while Angers are the 13th on the standings.
The coach of the team told reporters that the team may push the latest signings in tonight's game including the Egyptian International.
Two days ago, Nice officially announced the signing of Abdel Monem from Al Ahly.
The club said in an official statement: "OGC Nice is proud to announce that centre-back Mohamed Abdelmonem has joined the club from Al Ahly SC, signing a contract that runs until 2028.
In Egypt, Abdelmonem is a star and a pillar of one of Africa’s greatest national teams, having reached the final of the Africa Cup of Nations with his country in 2022.
He also held this status at Al Ahly, a club with which he built up a pretty decent honours list. As a three-time Egyptian Premier League winner (2017–18, 2022–23 and 2023–24) and a two-time CAF Champions League winner (2022–23 and 2023–24), the centre-back, who has earned 25 caps and scored two goals for The Pharaohs, will be “eternally grateful to Al Ahly”, a club with which he “grew as a player and as a man”.
“It was time for me to take up a new challenge at a big European club, and I’ve chosen to join OGC Nice in order to take that next step in my career. I’d like to thank the club for believing in me, and I’d like to thank Al Ahly for making this transfer possible. I’m going to give my all to make the fans proud and to help OGC Nice to achieve its aims,” Abdelmonem added."
