Real Madrid icon and Croatia legend Luka Modric has been named in Croatia's 24-man squad for the opening matches of the UEFA Nations League.
Real Madrid captain Modric, who made his international debut in 2006, made 178 appearances with his country's national team.
The international future of Modric was widely question after the surprising elimination of Croatia from the group stage of 2024 Euro.
Croatia's coach Zlatko Dalic said he is "happy that our captain remains on board" after Domagoj Vida and Marcelo Brozovic both announced their retirements from international football.
"He is our great strength, both on and off the field," he added.
Modric signed a one-year contract extension with Spanish champions Real Madrid in July.
