MJF will, officially, defend his title against Bryan Danielson at the promotion's first Pay-Per-View in 2023, Revolution, on March 5.
In the latest episode of AEW Dynamite, Danielson defeated RUSH in the final round of MJF's tests for Danielson to earn the PPV title shot.
After Danielson's victory, the PPV match will be the American Dragon's stipulated one-hour Iron Man match.
The feud between the American Dragon and MJF started when MJF defeated Jon Moxley in Full Gear after William Regal assisted MJF.
MJF captured the title, and changed the design of the belt, calling it the "Big Burberry Belt." Shortly, he attacked Regal which motivated Danielson to revenge for his trainer.
