Miss Eco Teen Presents Best Recycled Dress [Video]

The Miss Eco Teen International "Best Prime Dress" pageant was held earlier this week for the first year, bringing over 21 contestants to compete for the title in the host country, Egypt.

The prime was the last stage before the final competition, which will be held later this week.

In an exclusive interview with Sada el-Balad English (SEE), President of the Miss Eco International Amaal Rezk said that the competition includes important issues to be addressed, most notably the role of young women, their impact on the environment and the intellect of teenagers, including gender equality and volunteerism, youth and women empowerment.

The competition brings together teenagers from 35 countries from around the world, whose ultimate goal is to choose the best teen queen.

Besides, 80 countries will visit Egypt in March to compete for the Miss Eco International title, where the social media presence of plays a key role in the scoring criteria.

The event introduced a fashion show, including a dress prime, where each contestant presented a dress made from recycled materials, supporting a greener and a more eco-friendly environment as well as promoting tourism, where the misses have stayed in Dahab for 6 days.

On the shores of the city, Miss Egypt 2019 Alaa Atef presented the ceremony, where the jury selected the top 10 swimwear, most notebly from Canada, Brazil and Russia.

Also, Miss Dominican republic won the prize for the best eco dress, which included paper plates and other recycled material. Meantime, Miss Eco Teen Serbia won the second runner up with her tin can dress, while Miss Eco Teen Brazil came as the first runner up with her seashells and plastic dress.

The contestants are scheduled to travel to Alexandria, then return to Giza, to visit the great pyramid, and then to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, as part of the tourism promotion campaign, before the closing ceremony.

The ceremony, which will involve fashion and beauty experts, and several artists, will be held later this week to crown the titleholder.
