Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, held a meeting to discuss Egypt's participation in the Paris Olympics.
The meeting discussed the preparations of the Egyptian delegation to participate in the African Games to be held in Ghana.
The meeting discussed the qualification of Egypt's international players in individual and team competitions for the Paris Olympics, the plan of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the plan of the Olympic Committee in order to win Olympic medals.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhy stressed that there is great interest in Egypt's sports champions in all games, and keenness to provide a stimulating atmosphere for them and implement their training programs to complete the achievements in light of the great support from the government.
He added: There is coordination between the Ministry of Sports, the Egyptian Olympic Committee and sports federations on scientific standards in evaluating players and their performance and developing the training and rehabilitation programs they need in light of developing performance and maintaining their sports levels
The meeting discussed the development programs of plans and training camps for players specified by sports federations, and emphasis on providing everything necessary for their implementation on time.
The meeting was attended by Eng. Yasser Idris, President of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, Eng. Sherif El-Erian, Secretary General of the Olympic Committee, Dr. Kamal Darwish, Chairman of the Scientific Committee at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Eng. Karim Akram, Captain Ramy Ashour, Dr. Hussein Al-Samri and Dr. Muhammad Al-Arabi Chamoun.
Dr. Sabri Omar and Tariq Rashid are members of the committee, and from the Ministry of Youth and Sports attended Dr. Ashraf Al-Bajrami, Head of the Sports Sector, Dr. Muhammad Al-Kurdi, Head of the Central Administration for Sports Performance, Dr. Abdul Awal Mohamed, Assistant Minister, and Dr. Saeed Hassaballah, Director General of the General Administration of Sports Psychology.
